We compete in robotics competitions involving mainly Lego and we also coach younger pupils to participate in the future. As a whole we want to achieve the best for our team and for those we teach about the changing world with robots.
From our experiences we have learnt how to work better in a group and to communicate our ideas effectively. Our reasons for this group is to keep all the successes in our school robotics in one place. So far we have had over twenty different pupils involved with our work or who have shown interest. In the future we hope to find more enthusiastic members to join our team. |
Meet the Team
Our History |
The Lego Robotics in our school originally started in Spring 2013. Since then he team has been involved with the Technocamps annual competitions and the First Lego League championships. Team Lighting came to life after Technocamps 2015 when the main participants decided to keep a group name rather than changing it all the time. After that the name and lightning symbol has been recognised by all who have joined us or gone against us.

Improvements |
We have improved in many ways; not only with our way of communicating and team work but also the way we present our projects - only a few teams have a website to showcase their projects. Also, we have revised many different ways of using computers to create posters and artwork, and this has been very successful. Notably large changes are the skills we apply to video making such as time-lapses and high-quality designs of our robots.
|
Risks |
Many of the risks the team has faced have been overcome or dealt with effectively. Designs and models have been changed or scrapped countless times to create a final method. We challenge our ideas that first come into mind - we want to be different from the rest. An example would be sport, an obvious form would be football. Although what else could be involved with just a footballer? Then we brainstorm even further into a specific idea and for this example you could have a goalkeeper.
